Jayson Bowerman, left, Tad Hodgert, middle and MBSEF Executive Director John Schiemer, back right, work on improving course conditions Friday morning. With an electric pump draining standing water and some labor, they were able to ready the tunnel underneath Forest Service Road #45 for this mornings running of the 12th annual Great Nordeen cross-country ski race. The race, which benefits MBSEF, begins at 7:30am from the Sunrise lodge and offers either a 17km or 30km point to point freestyle course -- there are no classic tracks set on the groomed course -- that finishes at Wanoga Sno-Park.
